For the past couple of days, I've had a squirrel visitor who comes and runs along the bars outside our window (I don't live in prison, it's a ~decorative feature~ of the building), I don't know if it's the same one but I like to think it is. Today they were trying to get inside, it was pretty funny, I'm just sitting on my chair playing World of Warcraft (because I'm super cool), I don't know what looked so exciting to the wee thing. It also stayed a bit longer today, so I took the opportunity to take pictures.



It runs up and down the top of the bars and then stands on top and peers through the top window, and has a bit of a scratch at the frame. Bless.

 so, we made it to watford in one piece. had a bit of an explore last night, we are closer to the train station than i thought! 20 mins to london, not bad at all.

i have the rest of the week to unpack, then my new job starts on monday. i am nervous/excited. 

in the birmingham flat, talktalk disconnected our phone (and therefore our internet) 9 days early, so i have about 9 days of lj to catch up on... yikes. i am using simon's mobile broadband dongle at the moment.

OK, so the full restore was pretty easy. I was scared it would take hours or that I'd mess it up. Go me!


Edit: OK, It's still bluescreening, so according to the "Tech Guys" at Currys, it means it's a hardware problem and they are coming to take poor Quincy (yes, I named my laptop) away from me on Monday. It's a 10-14 day turnaround, so luckily next week I will have the trusty desktop to rely on. But then I can't spend all day lounging on the sofa under doctor's orders. I'll have to make do with the computer chair.

My laptop is misbehaving, I think I'll have to do a full restore :( stupid bluescreen.  Wish me luck.

So. A few weeks ago I had blood tests done, and it turns out I am "profoundly anaemic". I've been having really bad migraines this past week, so I went back to the doctors for some painkillers. He signed me off work for two weeks because he was surprised with the level of iron deficiency I have, that I'd been able to get out of bed at all for the past couple of months. My iron level should be 12-16g per dl of blood, it is in actual fact 7.5g/dl which is horrendously low, towards 6 it gets pretty dangerous heart-wise. So I am now ingesting 1500% RDA of ferrous sulphate every day, and I have to keep that up for at least the next three months, most probably longer. My doctor said that it's probably been a gradual reduction in the iron level and my body will have adjusted itself until it got as bad as it has, and just kind of gave up and made my head explode on a daily basis. So for the next two weeks I get to stay in and watch daytime TV, and exert myself as little as possible. On the plus side I've lost 18lb in the last 2-3 months.

Apart from that I am in tip-top shape. Hah.

Our room was up a million flights of stairs, it was awful after a day of walking around.

Oh, here's two pictures of a bracelet I made.

This cake was delicious. I made it at 4am on Sunday morning because I couldn't sleep.

I just set up the stats thing on Flickr (I don't know why I haven't done it before, it seems pretty much the coolest thing ever), and I noticed that back in June, some anti-Bush website starting using one of my pictures. I don't know whether to be flattered or not, haha.

Well I suppose I had better get ready for my interview.

I am crocheting my sister a blanket for her birthday. The colour is really a bit brighter than this. But I like the photo.
